Average Salary for Personal Trainers
Often the first question that most would be personal trainers ask.
As accountants for thousands of freelancers and self employed businesses we have quite a good handle on how much they earn.
Clients have told us that at an employee salaries range from around £12,000 - £20,000 per annum depending upon experience and location, plus you’ll usually get 20 -25 days paid leave, free fitness membership, discounts on goods and a few free or heavily discounted memberships for friends and families.
As a freelancer you could be charging anything from £20 - £100 per hour depending upon what it is you’re doing and for whom. You could be providing a few hours at the local gym or helping an actor get into shape for a new role, helping a budding sports enthusiast such as a pro/semi racing driver or a wealthy wife/husband to be achieve a goal before the big day.
It all depends on you and where and what work you do. What is reassuring is that by appointing an accountant, you can rest assured you’ll always be working in the most tax efficient way possible.
Managing the sales and marketing and delivery of your service to your clients will be your prime concern. However, missing tax deadlines, not registering with HM Revenue and Customs or putting incorrect information on your tax returns may result at best in you paying too much tax or not claiming what you’re allowed and at worst see you not paying enough, receiving a huge tax bill and potentially being fined.
