The successful candidate will need good leadership skills, strong integration testing experience and a good understanding of different testing methods and processes. In particular, proven experience of using and developing automated test capabilities and tooling, including Robot framework and keyword methodology is essential for this role.

Key duties include:

  • Accountable for defining the Auto Test Strategy and leading the team to implement automation modern autotest capability.

  • Create, plan, manage and deliver I&V activities on the Programme including workload plans, budgets and delivery milestones.

  • Provide input to the generation of requirement specifications, agreeing requirements are verifiable, complete and have traceability.

  • Define test requirements, test plans and design tests to satisfy requirements and safety.

  • Perform testing and integration of multiple technologies.

  • Ensure Test artefacts are consistent and of the right quality.

  • Liaise and co-ordinate with projects, personnel and suppliers to integrate the Programme and artefacts.

  • Document test results and defects, completing Test Reports and managing the completion of a VCRM.

  • Investigate and diagnose problems and propose solutions.

  • Manage change on the Programme I&V activities, including risks & issues.

  • Lead and support relevant governance reviews and audits.

  • Provide leadership and direction to I&V engineers

Experience, skills and qualifications

  • Degree education or equivalent testing experience.

  • Proven experience of using and developing automated test capabilities and tooling (Selenium, Robot framework)

  • Experience of working with large-scale and complex integration programmes, including integrating 3rd party systems or components.

  • Excellent understanding of the Testing Lifecycle and the different types of testing such as Functional and Integration Testing.

  • Knowledge of the different life cycle development models and methodologies used to develop large software intensive platforms.

  • Ability to understand existing Test Processes and Plans and identify improvements and efficiencies.

  • Experience of creating Test artefacts based on requirements and design documents.

  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture.

  • Experience with virtualised products/services/solutions

  • Familiarity with high-integrity or safety-related Real Time systems.

  • Knowledge of test automation concepts such as keyword driven framework.

  • DOORS, JIRA and HPQC (ALM) experience or equivalent tools.
