Portfolio Planning Manager


Location: Corsham


Duration: 6 months [initially]


EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Portfolio Planning Manager to join a large team, based on site at an important and large scale Defence sector customer.


This contract is for an initial six months, with the option to extend beyond that.


The post holder will work through Sopra Steria Recruitment for Sopra Steria, a European leader in digital transformation, providing one of the most comprehensive portfolios of end-to-end service offerings on the market: consulting, systems integration, software development, infrastructure management and business process services.


On client's instructions, due to the urgency, nature and length of the assignment, the successful candidate must have current security clearance to a high level.


The Portfolio Planning Manager will deliver Project Assurance and improve Project Delivery Maturity.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for Portfolio Governance and corporate reporting across the delivery vehicles comprising the client Portfolio;

  • Responsible for project control across the delivery vehicles comprising the client Portfolio; &

  • Responsible for establishment and maintenance of project document control.


Essentials Skills:


  • Project Assurance; with Programme Management Office experience; &

  • Project Controls and enabling Project Delivery improvement experience.


Desirable Skills:


  • Previous experience of Portfolio or Programme Management Office environment; &

  • Previous experience within Defence/MOD.


Outputs and Acceptance Criteria


  • Review pan-client project reporting and improve information reliability with proactive and targeted guidance aimed at improving data input into customer Corporate Tooling;

  • Manage client Portfolio Board Project Delivery reporting requirements;

  • Manage corporate Project Delivery reporting requirements via BPR

  • Develop policies and practices to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Project Delivery;


Document the Governance and Reporting processes to support knowledge transfer.
