My client are a nationally recognised local authority based in the West Midlands region.


We currently seek to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner to focus on financial planning and producing management reports.


It is essential that the prospective candidate has previous experience working within a Council.


Essential:


  • Recent experience in a finance environment producing reports using a variety of IT systems and providing high quality technical and detailed advice

  • A full understanding of up to date Local Government finance policies and legislation.

  • Experience of developing and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and external contacts to achieve service outcomes.

  • Experience in developing financial systems and processes.

  • Experience of producing high quality and accurate financial reports for management information.

  • Fully Qualified CCAB (or equivalent) or willing to work towards

  • Preparing complex and detailed written and verbal reports for MT and Committees as required.

  • Delivering finance training programmes to finance and non-finance staff.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and other financial systems.

  • Ability to produce and understand detailed/complex financial reports (utilising IT systems) to aid decision-making, to be used by a variety of users
